A young boy has been found hanging in his room in Oklaloosa, Florida.




The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said they has launched a "death investigation involving the hanging" of the 9-year-old boy.

According to Channel 3 News, Sheriff deputies revealed that the boy was discovered by family member on Thursday, November 10 around 3 p.m. Channel 3 News spoke with the mother of the 9-year-old.

She tells us her son was "found on his knees with a belt around his neck".

However, deputies will not release any details about the case pending the investigation. The OCSO is calling it a "death investigation involving a hanging".

According to a report, the boy was taken to the North Okaloosa Medical Center where he was announced dead.

According to OCSO, the Medical Examiner's Office has completed an autopsy and have not found any additional signs of trauma.

Investigators say there were no indications of a struggle but the house was in disarray and the utilities were turned off.

The crime scene was captured by deputies wearing body cameras as they responded to the incident. Information provided to the OCSO by the boy’s family members is being investigated.

The investigation continues and the OCSO said they will release more information when it is appropriate.
